Sales Executive

We currently have a position available within our sales team for a Sales Executive to initially join our internal team. The successful candidate will quickly become a key person in the technical team. Dealing with chemists, procurement and finance departments of research institutions and chemical using companies on a global level. You will be responsible for supporting customers to fulfil their chemical requirements to further progress their R & D or Process Development projects. Offering a high level of customer service and technical support you will be expected to build a long-term business relationship with the customer accounts with whom you are assigned. The candidate in question need not have commercial or sales experience since all training will be provided.

Responsibilities of the Sales Executive:

• Handling technical enquiries received via the telephone and e-mail

• Managing and growing an existing customer base, whilst also trying to expand the customer portfolio further

• Presenting technical solutions to meet customer requirements

• Working and being part of a busy technical sales team

• Liaising with clients and suppliers on a daily basis to drive the business forward

• Maintaining lines of communication with customers to keep them updated with respect to delivery schedules for their requirements

Candidate Profile:

• Graduate with Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc). Preference is for a Chemistry Degree, but other scientific qualifications will be considered, i.e. Physics, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, etc.

• A well organised, attention to detail and a self-motivated individual

• Good knowledge of administrative procedures

• Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written on the basis many of the customers of Manchester Organics are international / overseas.

• Experience and competent with Microsoft Office software packages, i.e. Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.

• For long term career development the ability and desire to travel across the UK and mainland Europe

• Ability to work under pressure with enthusiasm and remain focused

• A flexible can-do attitude with a willingness to adapt, learn and support fellow colleagues when required

Experienced Synthetic Production Chemists

With our continually expanding facility, we require experienced graduate organic chemists and PhD organic chemists for our custom, fine chemical and fluorination production division. The ideal candidates will have experience in organic chemistry and a good understanding of modern analytical techniques.

Essential candidate qualities for graduate chemists:

•       a chemistry degree - BSc or MChem, 2:2 minimum

•       2 years related industrial experience minimum

•       can work in an integrated team

•       able to meet tight deadlines

•       good communication skills

•       computer literate

•       strong desire to develop bench skills

Essential candidate qualities for PhD chemists:

•       a PhD in relevant discipline

•       2 years related industrial experience minimum

•       can demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge of modern synthetic methods

•       able to meet tight deadlines

•       provide accurate technical project reports

•       good communication and presentational skills

•       strong desire to continue to develop bench skills
